DEVELOP & GROW Website – Getting Started

DEVELOP & GROW Website – Getting Started

Do I have to sign up?

No, you are free to browse around the content of the entire website without signing up. We want the site to be as user friendly as possible. It is split into sections, all section have a link from the menu going across the top. For example "Training & Events" or "Support for Your Group". If you hover over these menu items you will see drop down menu's giving you lots more options to choose from.

Then why sign up?

If you want to  interact with the site then you should sign up, you may want to post some information about your organisation, or join an interactive group such as "Collaborative Working" or "Volunteer Managers Network". You could also post your photos, job vacancies, and any other relevant information. The site is made for you, the voluntary and community sector, and we hope you find it a useful tool.

To sign up

Near the top right hand side of every page there is a box "Sign Up or Sign In" click on sign up and complete the short simple form. Sign up is free and open to all Voluntary & Community sectors groups within our areas of work (please see our terms & conditions for more information).

Then what...

Add to your profile: You do this under the Settings menu (link on top right of page):

  • Upload a photo – so we will recognise you if we meet
  • Adjust your privacy and personal settings to you liking.

Take a look at our site content – Using the navigation buttons along the top of the page you will be able to access information on our services, resources, networks, events, training, news, etc. There are links to other websites you may find useful and you will also be able to find out about DEVELOP and GROW, who we are, what we do, how to contact us, what others think of us, how we are funded, etc. (Under Main Tab).

Join an Interactive Group  – Interactive Groups are where people post information and start discussions about common areas of interest or work. If you don’t find your own area of interest – you can start your own group.  You can use a group to ask for or share resources and ideas or to explore other members opinions on a topic.  We use some groups to highlight new information of interest to the sector e.g Current Funding Opportunities or VCS Job Vacancies (you can post your own vacancies here too).  You will need to join the group (just click the button at the top of the page labelled ‘Join’ – it is that simple) then you will be able to post content and will be notified by email if anyone else does (you can turn this notification off if you wish).

Browse and add to the Training & Events Calendar

Contact other members – you may know some of them already. If you want to pass messages privately you will have to add them as your friends. Click on add as friend button under their photo on their profile page.

If you get stuckContact one of our team we will be happy to help.
