WREN, which stands for Wiltshire Responsible Employers Network, is a partnership between Private companies, the Public Sector and Voluntary and Community Groups who want to work together to ensure that Wiltshire is a great place to work and live.

As part of the wider Corporate Social Responsibility Agenda, WREN has secured funding from Wiltshire Council which has enabled the Volunteer Centre Wiltshire to employ a part time Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) Development Worker. Grant Hayward started in January 2012 and despite only working 15 hours a week has made an excellent start on getting ESV on the radar with all sectors in Wiltshire. Using contacts he brought with him to the role, he very early on managed to secure a partnership with Volunteering England and BT which will see at least 5 Wiltshire based voluntary organisations benefiting from expert advice and guidance from BT employees at their head office in London. We will give updates on the success of this in May when the project has been completed.

We are currently looking for voluntary or community group's who are interested in making links with local businesses to gain support from their skills and expertise. In order for Grant to be able to 'sell' ESV, it would be really useful to know what you need. Please complete this short form and Grant will use this information when talking to local businesses about the local community need. As soon as he identifies an employer that both matches your requirements and expresses an interest in offering employee time or resources to help address the need, will get in touch with you for more information and make the initial introductions. You can find the form here Employee Volunteering opportunity form

If you are a local employer (of any size) that is interested in supporting the voluntary and community sector as part of your CSR policy, please get in touch with Grant by emailing grant@growwiltshire.org.uk . He will come and discuss with you the various opportunities, and benefits open to you if you get involved with Employer Supported Volunteering. He can also provide you with more information on WREN and how you can get involved.
