This network has been set up to offer information, workshops and peer support to anyone who manages/supervises or co-ordinates volunteers in Wiltshire.

 

This group will enable you to contact each other to post questions, problems or  good practice information for example. There will also be reminders about forthcoming Volunteer Managers' Network meetings and latest information.

 

On the right hand side there is a list of members who you can contact either as a group or individually by clicking on their picture.

 

Membership of this group is restricted to those people who have either been to a Volunteer Managers' Network meeting or have been in contact with Vanessa Wells about the network.

 

Vanessa will also be posting regular posts and information that will be useful to you.

Please see below for details of a new award in Volunteer Management

 

ViSTA (Voluntary Sector Training Alliance) is a learning and development charity working with individuals, communities and organisations to support charitable enterprise and voluntary action.

We are pleased to be able to offer the Lantra Level 3 Award in Volunteer Management to anybody managing or co-ordinating volunteers within their organisation.

 

v  Study for a well respected qualification in only 8 weeks.

v  Improve your career prospects

v  Get your skills and knowledge recognised

v  Improve the effectiveness of your volunteers

v  Meet other volunteer managers and be inspired

v  Study with a leading expert on volunteer management

 

The course will cover:

  • Planning Volunteer Work
  • Organising Volunteers and Resources
  • Communicating Effectively to Brief Volunteers
  • Monitoring Volunteer Work
  • Giving Feedback to Volunteers
  • Supporting Volunteers to Solve Problems

 

Dates:  31st May, 7th June , 21st June, 28thJune, 5th July and 12th July  (3 classroom session and the rest tutorial time)
There is also a portfolio to submit.

Cost:  £350 including registration with awarding body. 

Venue:  ViSTA training room, Langport. Somerset.  This is a central Somerset location with good road links.

Dear All

Please see below a message from Volunteering England about the Value Volunteer Management Campaign which may be useful to you.

The Volunteer Management Final Report is now available from the Value Volunteer Management Campaign site, so do have a read when you have a moment as there are some really informative points about the learning emerging from the programme, as well as very encouraging and celebratory points about the massive difference the programme has made to the volunteer management arena.

Thanks for organising this Vanessa. I look forward to seeing lots of volunteer managers here in due course. I'd like to do a brief update on where we are with the volunteering strategy and action plan at the meeting on the 5th and give people copies of the consultation document, which should be hot off the press by then. Looking forward to it!
